I'm not sure if it's really necessarily to make a thread for this, but I discovered that Boos will freeze when chosen a music with bahps. They won't move anymore as soon as the first 'bahp' has been played. How the Boos look like when frozen depends on how they looked just before the bahp.

Interesting. I guess they wanted to include a bahp action for them and didn't. Or it's bugged.
EDIT: Patch 14 to fix; http://nsmbhd.net/thread/2569-misc-patches-thread/ |

Just to clarify, does this apply to the Boo (sprite ID 38) only, or is the Balloon Boo (sprite ID 248) effected as well?
Also, I wonder if someone could find a use for this in level design... _________________________ My SMW Central Profile My Kuribo64 Profile There are Goombas somewhere below this footer, 'cause typing "Goombas" makes one appear! |

I'll take a look at the Balloon Boos which act like Boos.
There was also something else strange (I don't know if this was already discovered yet). I set a Boo [?]Block in the level, but when I tested the level, the Boo looked very weird. Until I placed a normal Boo in the same view. Then it looked normal again. (Sorry, I'm not able to make a screenshot at the moment) |

Must be that the ? Block doesn't load the Boo properly on its own, so needs a Boo sprite loaded at some point.

Kind of like if one placed a Boo block in a level without the Boo sprite set enabled, perhaps. I don't know what that would do, as I have not tried. _________________________ My SMW Central Profile My Kuribo64 Profile There are Goombas somewhere below this footer, 'cause typing "Goombas" makes one appear! |

I just tested placing a Boo [?]Block in a level without the Ghost House Spriteset enabled. If you jump to the block, you'll see a 'poof' thing and you'll hear the sound of the Boo, but there won't be a Boo. (It's also not an invisible Boo, I've tested that.) It's funny, I actually expected the game to freeze.
EDIT: Posted by WhatTheHack Just to clarify, does this apply to the Boo (sprite ID 38) only, or is the Balloon Boo (sprite ID 248) effected as well? This only happens with Sprite 38 (Boo). The Balloon Boo (with 'Acts like Boo' option enabled) will still be able to move. |

I just added the info about "bahp" music points to the Boo sprite database page. (Sprite ID 38)

This sprite will freeze and remain frozen indefinitely if placed in a view with music that includes a "bahp" note, such as music IDs 19 and 63. ^^From Sprite Database I don't really get what you mean with 'such as music IDs 19 and 63'. The Toad House Music (ID 19) doesn't have a sound that makes enemies jump, does it? |

Are you sure ID 19 is the Toad House music? Last I checked ID 19 was the overworld grassland theme. I checked on this site's wiki page for the music IDs in case you are wondering. Here is the page: https://nsmbhd.net/wiki/List_of_Music/
E: Sorry for the misunderstanding, I read on the wiki, at the time of posting this reply, that music ID 19 was Grassland. I would have checked the editor, except I was on vacation and had no computer to access. _________________________ My SMW Central Profile My Kuribo64 Profile There are Goombas somewhere below this footer, 'cause typing "Goombas" makes one appear! |

Hm.. I'll check it tomorrow, since I'm not able to go on my computer right now. It would be embarressing if that list on the Wiki isn't correct, since I made it.

I checked in NSMBe and 1A is Grassland, and 19, is indeed, Toad House.

Okay. Will you edit the info at the sprite database? I'll try to fix the Music list tomorrow (unless someone else has done it already by then).

I've fixed the Music list and now I know why I made that Music ID mistake. Strangly, there isn't a ID 17. After ID 16 (Boss defeated) comes ID 18 (Mushrooms).

I wonder what happens when you try to put 17 into a level...

Posted by Hiccup I wonder what happens when you try to put 17 into a level... You would probably have to open the level in a hex editor in order to do so, seeing as the value isn't listed in NSMBe. Edit: I forgot that NSMBe has a hex editor. _________________________ My Youtube Channel Never use a flash drive unless you are transferring files... |
