I am not trying to create a stupid or controversial thread here.

But,

I haven't seen much activity lately, at all, when Kuribo64 used to still have SMG2.5 and I was on the NSMBHD chan i'd get bugged by tons of posts and start getting angry, but now I come here after Kuribo64 got nuked of SMG2.5 and I kind of get the feeling of this.

I know most people just got off winter break but even during school season I remember this place being a lot more...occupated.

Has it always been this way? Or is there a decrease.

Now that you mention it.
It's awfully quiet. Even for the holidays.
Normally there would be like about 27 posts. But...

Is everybody busy or what?

Yeah I was pretty enthusiastic about helping out with the Community Remix after 2.5 got bombed and it's been really lackluster in terms of reception thus far.

Some people are busy like with their daily lives trying to make a living. Before I go to work, I always check NSMBHD. It seems that the website is having less activity… then again, it isn't the holidays so we might get a change once we are in March.

Shit needs to be done on the NSMB hacking front, that's all. General discussion won't save the board.

NSMBe is like, getting no progress. Between the dead C# version and the Java version that never gets done, uh... I'd help but I prefer C#, so this'd basically result in a separate project, pretty much like ABXD and Blargboard.

Guess it's time to bring my secret weapon.

A brand new, ORIGINAL, cool hack.

That is if I find a way to run nsmbe... #mac

Yeah, we need more good hacks. And less lame ones.
I may as well scrap Clone Tag Team 2 then...

So to be blunt, everybody needs to get their asses in gear if they don't want NSMB Hacking to die.

It seems that nobody really works hard on his hack(s). Except you MF64. That´s really sad especially because of ASMB. It was a hack we all were excited for but it seems that there is a break (I hope it´s only a break). I read at Freeze' profile that ray is in the mood to continue the hack so we all can hope.

I work hard on my hack too but it´s not easy because of school and other things. Also if somebody posts an update like you MF64 it doesn´t get really attention. Only a few people answer to an update post or sometimes nobody recognizes it. That´s sad too.

It´s really a pity to see so many hacks dead. If I think about it I can remember only 3 active hacks around here and that´s not really much. Most of the new hackers just want to try it out and don´t continue for a longer time. But even for the fact that they maybe don´t want to create a whole world for a hack we´ve got way too less posts in the "Single Level section". In spite of the editor creating really good levels isn´t easy.

I think (especially for new hackers) the concept of making an 80-level hack is daunting.

Maybe we should encourage smaller hacks that are more manageable for newbies? 1 or 2 Worlds, perhaps...

Like Mini-Hacks. It can serve as a "gateway" to larger hacks.

That'd help, not everyone has windows computers

It's kinda this. But I understand perfectly why people aren't here hacking NSMB. I guess they are like me: -list-
1. I work too much.
2. I can't use my PC often.
3. I can't use it for long.
4. When I'm on it, I don't want to do NSMB Hacking. I am tired and I prefer to do other stuff.
5. I am lazy to finish my new hack.

That's how I'm fucking stuck.

By the way, has anybody else the same problem?

Programming something from C# to Java isn't fast and easy. It could take  Dirbaio months or even years.

And he seems to have no motivation for whatever reason. He always says he's bored on the IRC and asks us what to do, but when we suggest this, he just goes blarg.

I know this feeling, but eventually someday I'll have some motivation. Seems he never has motivation or something...

Honestly, I felt the same way with my hack... Which is probably the problem of why some hacks don't advance. Hackers lack motivation.

Ah, actually I got the editor to run with Mono BUT the thing to select the rom doesn't let me look in the USB without me typing the full path, so I can't test them on my actual DS.
And using the full path doesn't... Wait actually maybe it works?

Anyways, people lack motivation, I think. That feeling when you know you gotta do something but you don't feel like it...

By the way, isn't the IRC quieter than it once was? Unless I maybe don't get on enough...

Yes, monos file chooser sucks. You can always edit the rom on your disk drive and then copy it to the microsd using your regular file browser...

I think that's because the Web irc is down. I took it down because it caused lots of problems with many users connecting from the servers IP. And Blarg, people are lazy to get a real irc client. Or they think the irc *is* the Web irc...?

I assume most people just want the board to have its own chatbox instead of having to make a separate account somewhere else just to chat with other users of this board.

I eventually got my own client (which ironically, every time I've logged in since there has been no conversation whatsoever), but back last year when I was just trying to pass time at University, I just felt like chatting but knew that it would count as spam on the board. I didn't want to bother with all the extra stuff just to have a personal client, which for the most part had no difference than the usual IRC.
