I'm trying to import custom backgrounds into NSMB, but whenever I do this, it becames horribly pixelated and out of scale.
I'll supply a screenshot if needed, how do I fix this? _________________________ Community Remix Stuff: World 3-C: 99% Complete (Released) World 4-Tower: Not started yet |

Read the BG Editing How-To for tips on how to improve BG quality. Also, make sure you aren't scaling up a small image to use for the BG. If that doesn't help, provide a screenshot so we have a better idea of what's wrong.

I'm scaling a large image down.

You shouldn't use a digital photo or something that is high resolution. It's best to use image that has not much detail or graphical image rather than photograph.
