(Another reminder for me. This subforum is basically the to-do list that has to be completed before the final 5.2 release )

The graphics editor needs a lot of improvement.

These two are an absolute must-have:
- Filled rectangle and circle tools
- Select stuff, copy and paste.

Dunno what else, suggestions?

This is not a sugesstion but a bug:
Press and hold the left mouse button down to draw and then move the cursor while you are holding to the toolbar.... ERROR all palette colors are away xD

If we could have a database just like the sprite DB, that can update the files so they automatically open correctly, that would be cool. So say for instance there are two palettes that go with the texture. When opening the image file, the palettes automatically get selected that go with it. Or at least have it list the correct palettes so you know what to pick. Also, have it auto select the sizes and maybe be able to select from a group of sizes, the images contained within the file. As you know some are say 2x2 or 4x4, or 8x4. Would this be possible? Where we can edit and update a database?

Or even, some sort of page that opens when you select the file with text explaining what the items are, and the values needed to edit.

I dont see any reason.
We have REALLY good graphic editors like GIMP or PS...Why do you want to make a graphics editor inside the NSMB editor?

When you edit textures that share the same palette with others, you have to do it in the editor so it doesn't corrupt other images within the palette. This is where the above would be good.

Exactly that.
Yeah, the file DB would be a great addition. I'll do it

I will add a lot of data once it is up and running. I have a crapload of notes on everything.

Same thing with which tileset file (ncg) goes with whichn tileset in the level editor such as Grassland etc.

Cool It will be very useful, for sure.
The second one, though, is not as useful as the first, because the editor itself has the info. I could put it all automatically in the DB...

Yeah. I should ban myself for such a long bump. And ban me again for not implementing this in three years.

I've got an idea, make it possible to change the size of the pencil and eraser.

I hope that it would have keyboard shortcuts for undo/redo, pencil, eraser, lines and drawing shapes. I always have to move mouse cursor to select another function.

This shouldn't be too hard to implement, just a few lines of code to detect the keys and then calling the function. I'd do it if I knew how to use github lmao

edit: am working on this now

So far ctrl + z is undo and ctrl + plus and ctrl + minus zoom in and out. What should I use for redo and other functions?

Also it's been almost 3 years dirbaio, better hurry up!

ctrl + y is usually what's used for redo.
EDIT: is it based off b179 or b180?

...idk, whatever the master branch is at this time. Anyway you can copypaste the graphics editor class file over the b180 one.
