I have come up with a theory on the chronological order in which the main series Mario platformers, it is NOT OFFICIAL, but it is very plausible. Check it out:

New Super Mario Bros.: Clone Tag Team 1+2 / New Super Mario Advance + Take 2 / Super Mario: Endless Earth

Yay
But I'd put NSMB2 as a descendant of NSMBW, even if it's handheld again. It's just a fucking port of NSMBW to the 3DS. Soo many similar stuff.

That came into my mind as well, but I decided to "split" the NSMB games for these reasons:

-If it continued from the Wii version, it should then be called "New Super Mario Bros. 3"
-The Wii and 3DS versions can both count as a sequel to the original NSMB, so if the timeline splits between them, there is the possibility of two sequels to the same game.
-There's also the difference between handheld and console, this happened before in the timeline I made so I thought it would be logical for NSMB to branch off into two "sub-series".
