Good news!

I succesfully made the editor able to mod the different frames of the paths.

Here a little example of what's possible:



Now I have to implement that you can actually add frames to an animation.

Here is also a new buid for you containing that function: NSMB Worldmap Editor v1.2

So, I'll give all members who aren't already active on Kuribo64 a short progress update.

CoinKiller is now able to show almost all possible types of things in the editor:



I also worked on a tileset editor which is almost complete:



Currently I am working on the core level editor, so we can finally release something
If anyone is interested into this or has any comments/suggestions go here.

(Also: If anybody wonders, why I'm not that active here anymore, you now got an answer)

If you do a lot of asm stuff, this might be usefull.



It converts the addresses in IDA to the ones where the code ends up in memory while ingame and vice versa.

With this you'll never have to use crappy calc.exe to get the correct addresses and creating patches will be way faster.

Normally the timer ticks way faster than every 1 second. This patch fixes that and therefor makes the timer act like in New Super Luigi U.

Try this asm hack. It's a patch template version of the Luigi only patch. No overlay hex editing needed.

In the seven years this site has been running, the NSMB Hacking Domain has become synonymous with the game's hacking community. In our run, we've witnessed and nurtured the development of many high-quality hacks for New Super Mario Bros. on the DS. Over time, to ensure the quality of the hacks we host on the site the moderators and admins have proposed new rules governing NSMB Hacks to maintain a high level of quality and consistency out of our user base.

And it shows.

There was once a time when we found custom tilesets impressive. When this board launched, only two or three people had even played around with ASM hacking. From custom enemy graphics, new music, custom boss rooms, and everything else that blew our minds back in the beginning- today these things are quintessential to any good hack. We've come a long way from the first publicly released hack to the latest one. And this is where we make an announcement.

The release of Newer Super Mario Bros. DS also marks the release of a superior game engine to that of the original NSMB. One that offers more ease of customisation and a far superior in-game interface with high-quality sounds, graphics and content that was previously a pipe dream in the original NSMB DS game engine.

It's no secret that our users are starting to use Newer DS as the new base ROM for their NSMB Hacks. So once more, to maintain quality and consistency for our hacks, the board staff are making our newest rule change yet.

Beginning from today, we are the Newer Super Mario Bros. Hacking Domain!

From here on in, we are accepting Newer DS as the appropriate base ROM for any and all hacks on this website. With the upcoming release of the Newer Team's own development tools, this promises to be a smooth transition for everyone to make their hacks a little bit newer.

Hacks using the original New Super Mario Bros. ROM will be phased out. From today onward we will not be accepting any hacks of the original and clunky NSMB.

This also means that existing hacks will also be phased out. Developers are encouraged to port their work over to the Newer Engine for re-submission and possible re-approval. If your hack once again meets our quality standards they will be approved and moved to NSMB Hacks after a 24-hour phase-out period.

Any hacks not resubmitted within 24 hours from the time of this announcement will be moved to trash. We understand that this might be a problem for some users, but porting everything you've got to the Newer engine should be a snap. Plus, this will help us weed out inactive users and hack threads.

The previous rule revision, forbidding hacks with the word 'Newer' in the title, will be revoked due to redundancy.

We hope you'll all participate in making NSMBHD newer again!

This tool is intended to convert a batch of image files to ENPGs, since it takes quite a while to edit all files one by one if you have a bunch of them. Also because NSMBe recognizes file types by extension, you might be unable to edit files you added to your ROM for for example Level Intro Screens.



Just drag a lot of image files onto the exe, select if you want to compress the ENPGs and if you intend to use them as Credit Images.

Then it will create a "convert" folder where the original image was and puts the encoded ENPG there.

Nope, only horizontal camera restrictions. The engine doesn't have vertrical scrolling implemented

Today my Discord account was entirely disabled for violating their TOS.



I was not aware of anything I did that violated their TOS. But I slowly discovered what happened:
A server I was on made some raid in which they changed their avatar and usernames all tho the same thing. I did not take part in that raid. In fact I did not post a single message on that server in weeks. But someone simply reported every single person on that server which resulted in most of them being banned including me. The mail clearly states that a REAL human looked into the thing and confirmed that I did something wrong. Seriously, that is entirely stupid, unacceptable and shameful, especially when multiple people that are entirely innocent are hit including for example shibboleet who additionally owns Discord Nitro.
If Discord does not come back to this and reenables my account in a reasonable timespan (I contacted them on their homepage and on Twitter) I will abandon it. I don't want to have my communication rely on a service that nukes my account randomly.
