For me the game was just so easy that I got 99 lives while playing
See a lots of creative DS Hacking here (Really). But after I lost many because looking for the Star coins for World 9, I used this trick.

You can use the green shell trick in almost every mario game to get infinite lives.
As for NSMBW, I got 99 lives in W7, the level after the ghost house, with lots of those moving pipes. _________________________ |

I think you can do this in 3D Land in World 1-2, much easier to execute in this game but takes much longer because max amount of lives is Crown-Crown-Crown (1110)

In NSMBW, there's a glitch in World 4 castle that can get you millions of coins at once. But once you've topped the 99 lives limit, you gotta get out of there before it lags so much it crashes the game, just keep running to the right and you'll be fine.

I got 99 lives in both of the NSMB games by just playing through it and using all the 1-up houses. I never used any of these tricks because getting 1-ups in these games is actually a very easy thing. I did however try the coin glitch seen on the video that Put something here.

I like this way: enter green Mushroom Houses. Even if you haven't yet passed game (so mushroom houses don't respawn), it's very easy to have 99 lives that way... if you're lucky.
