A hammer suit power-up could be cool. This power-up hasn't been in a side scrolling Mario game since SMB3, I think.
Also the hammer model is already in the game.

And.... I can say definatley no that would be very difficult to that.

What? If you were trying to say that it would be difficult to do, I know that, I'm just making a suggestion.

I'm just saying it would be a little less work because the game already includes Mario with a shell and the hammer model is in there somewhere.

What? If you were trying to say that it would be difficult to do, I know that, I'm just making a suggestion.

It is miniscule in comparison to the work that needs to be done for coding the powerup.

And no, it's not a problem of the DS's power. It's a problem that we don't know enough about the game to do these things.

for my experience its asm almost the same as scripting.
Its only a lot harder and written in a another language but no its definitely not boring, I would recommend to learn ASM.

Sorry dirbaio if I am wrong, this its just how I experience this.
