Hi! So just when I thought I had managed to modify the overlays by myself I've found out that I'm incapable of understanding some instructions on how to do it haha. So I took a look on how to modify some of the overlays in NSMBe in a tutorial Skawo made back in the day. However I just keep having problems when it comes to search values in the search bar!! So for example, in the tutorial it says to put this in the search bar "E5021011E20300001A" and then replace it with this "E5021011E2030000EA". However when I do it the search bar doesn't take me anywhere at all!! I've tried putting the letters one by one, looking for the bar for myself, extracting the file from the editor and nothing works!! Could somebody please tell me if I'm searching the codes inappropriately, and if so, how should I search for them??? Thank you!!

iirc the "search bar" in nsmbe's hex editor is actually just a way to jump to a specific point somewhere, so it doesnt search for any bits of hex specifically. youd need to extract the overlay and open it in an external hex editor to search and make the change i believe

did you decompress the overlay before extracting it? also, just to check, what version of nsmbe are you using?

I'm using version r356 and yes I decompressed it, is just that when I type that on the search bar it doesn't take me anywhere. Although in the tutorial it says that I need to type that on the search bar, but when I do so it doesn't take me anywhere. I've tried everything.
