A very common problem with Mario texture hacks is that the palette for the fire flower power up almost always breaks. This is likely because the palette for that power up isn't actually a part of the head model and is present somewhere else (not sure where. According to

ray it's the body model but according to

KingYoshi it's not, and both people got equally close to getting custom Mario models so I kinda trust both of them).
