I've only skimmed through all the player model changing stuff so I might be wrong but I think you need plugins for Maya or 3DS Max to export a DAE as a NSBMD.

Unfortunately I haven't seen an actual download link for them, only mentions. Plus you'd still need an old version of Maya/3DS Max.
