Okay. The "New super mario bros hacking domain" thingy that snake block came up with is quite cool IMO. I propose using it as THE logo from now on.
But for some reason, every logo people make with it looks more pixelated and shittier So I've remade it in SVG (a vector image, link for those who don't know what it is). http://nsmbhd.net/get.php?id=2348 This'll make it not look pixelated anymore *as long as you use it properly*. If you use a bitmap graphics editor, please render the SVG at the correct size when importing it, DONT render it at the default size and then scale it down, it will make it look shitty again. The GIMP can do this, and I guess most other good editors like Photoshop can too. So go ahead and make some cool banners with it I'll put all those who are nice enough in the header as a rotating logo |

Thanks, Dirbaio!
Anyway... I'm gonna make my logo in SVG too. I'll update this post when I'm done. EDIT: not sure how to make SVGs How did you make it, Dirbaio? |

Making this logo in SVG is good because it can be resized to any size without looking shit, but the final banners don't need to be in SVG, they'll only be used in one size ever in the website. So don't worry about using normal PNGs
Also, alternate version: http://nsmbhd.net/get.php?id=2350 I'm not sure... I think I like the first version better, it makes the "hacking domain" part stand out more...? |

OK, but:
Posted by me not sure how to make SVGs How did you make it, Dirbaio? ^^^ Also, I think I like the first one better. And sadly Flash can't do that resize-without-making-it-look-like-that thingy (I think), so... |

Hamza, you don't know me well, but I have a special talent. It's being blunt and kind of mean when it's needed. So far, nothing you've posted looks good - not on design nor a technical. It's poorly laid out, pixelated, and matte lines are visible. It's bad, man. Bad.
So. You probably shouldn't be wasting your time making a logo that won't be used. ---- Especially using Flash to do it?? What the hell are you thinking? Just download GIMP. |

snake block: I use Inkscape, it's free software and it's quite nice
But like I said, don't worry about *making* SVGs, just get an editor that can import SVGs at the desired resolution |

Urr OK.
Anyway, Garmicheal. Please stop being so mean. I know it's pixelated, now that's Flash's problem, but... matte lines...what do you mean? And poorly laid out...well, how? And, not on design? Wow. wut. Your mean. TOO mean. I don't know how to use Inkscape, I don't know how to use GIMP, I don't know how to use Photoshop...Flash is the only choice for me. Please, stop being so mean |

Yop Garmichael, that was a bit too much
snake block: you can always learn, using GIMP or Photoshop is not that difficult, and you'll find it incredibly useful not only for making logos, but for any NSMB hacking thing, and many other non-NSMB related things. I encourage you to try EDIT: This is me using Inkscape. I just installed it today to do this, I had never used it before. Still, by clicking around and looking for stuff, I can do simple shit like the logo above. See? It's not that hard |

Hamza, if you want to be taken seriously, you have to act seriously. This means, you'll want to watch an introduction tutorial for GIMP and use that. Serious crafters use the tools meant for the job. Matte lines are those white pixels around the objects that you placed in. You'll see that Thierry (I think) fixed up your image and removed these pixels. Get GIMP, learn it, and know what you're doing, and then you won't have to feel sad that someone says you don't know what you're doing.
Anyway, here's a version of that logo Dirbaio was trying to do before he went to bed: DOWNLOAD. I put a CS4 compatible Adobe Illustrator file in there as well as the SVG. The AI can be placed directly into photoshop, but the SVG can't. I'm not sure which of the two GIMP will accept, so they're both there. Let me know if there are any problems with them. |

Hmm...............
urgh.... Anyway, I made...the SVG Inkscape was being stupid when tracing. That's why there are a few pixel thingies left out there =p Anyway, Dirbaio, how do you trace the NSMB logo image so good? Mine seems all smoothed out and stuff like that, and pixels are visible, as you can see. Anyway: http://nsmbhd.net/get.php?id=2353 |

Personally I don't like that double (triple?) outline. It looks way too bloated :|

I was talking about the "additional" white and black outline around the logo. Please don't do that
Also bad news, I've had to disable SVG files including in the uploader, because security issues (SVGs can contain javascript, lol derp). Now you have to download SVGs to view them. Sucks, but security is more important. (Thanks xfix) |

Hmmmah...
I think it's good to have the outline, it's the main cool thing which I like about the whole logo xD And that "3rd outline" is not an outline, that's the black glow effect. |

There was no black line! That was actually the shadow. Part of the shadow.
