As soon as I start it, mario dies and all I can see is the background. What's wrong with it?

I'd look over your level right now, but I'm on my 3ds, so I can't download it.

Are you sure you added an entrance? Did you add a view?

A view is like an area within an area. Mario cannot go anywhere outside the View.

I hope you understand.

Make sure the start entrance ID in the level settings corresponds to a proper entrance. Also make sure the starting entrance is inside the view, and the view ID in the entrance settings is correct.

OK, adding a view worked, but there are a few problems:
1. Mario can't walk past any of the hills, he must go over them.
2. My banzai cannon doesn't show up, neither does my piranha plant. Is that why in the editor they showed up red?
3. Mario can't go down the pipe I made.

Any ideas?

1. I dunno what you mean
2. Go to level settings and configure sprite sets properly.
3. Add an entrance for the pipe.

1. I mean that Mario can't just walk past my hills and stuff without going over them:

Also, I get stuck in the spot where Mario is at in the picture.
2.
3. I added an entrance, but it doesn't work. See?

You need to place a tile with the Tile behavior "0A 00 20 00" directly after the slope. Look in Nintendos levels and you will see whats the problem.

It looks like the normal ground tile. Look in Nintendo's levels. Do it. Now.
You will see what I am talking about.

To fix that entrance, you have to place it at the TOP LEFT of the pipe. And also if you want Mario to be able to ENTER that pipe, disable "exit only".

If you have more questions about pipes, look at the original levels to see how are pipes placed. It's the easiest way to get questions answered

Oh god. I am talking about the Slope problem. This tile must be the tile behavior 0A 00 20 00. This tile is in the object selection on the left of the level editing screen. Just look. I think its Object number was something like "53" or so...
