When I looked at this Freeze's screenshot at World themes thread.
To conclude, we can make two palettes more useful by having editing both palettes. Each has different colors. But there's something I want to ask, is it necessary to have both palettes contain the same layout? Thx _________________________

Nope. You just need that they have the same layout when you want to do things like what your screenshot shows (reusing the same graphics with different colors).
The original tilesets don't even have identical palette layouts. Look at Nohara for example, one palette is used for certain elements while the other is used for other elements... _________________________ Kuribo64 - zrghij |

I know we can edit it, but they're unused. Why? Just curious... Nevermind it, there're some tile can only see in one pallete, I just wanna know they're really transparent or not... _________________________ NSMB6: Beta Testers Wanted!!! |

Posted by Mega-Mario The original tilesets don't even have identical palette layouts. Nope. For instance the Mushroom tileset uses one palette for the green and one for the red mushroom. But the texture file (ncg) is the same. The mushroom gets displayed different, depending of the palette. |

For example:
As you can see, first and second palette doesn't the same, then, will this example be usable in game? Note: That'll help you understand my above question. _________________________

Posted by MarioSunshine As you can see, first and second palette doesn't the same, then, will this example be usable in game? You can do this, but you will loose much colors. Make both the first and second palette the same. Only change the colors.. Like seen in my screenshot. 1. and 2. palette is the same, only the colors are different. |
