Git is much better at some things than SVN. Like branches, and merging. The reason we have testing revisions on the repo's trunk is that I don't want to get into SVN branches. But if we used Git, we could do all the testing on separate branches and merge them back to trunk when the features are finished, so the trunk will always be usable.

And GitHub has many more features than Google Code (IMO)

Dunno, this is not final. I still have to make up my mind. For now the Google Code thing is still the official repo for NSMBe
This'll mean that we'll have to learn to use Git...

What do you guys think?

And, Piranhaplant, your opinion is important

Hmmm... I like google-code more
GitHub is confused...
But it has also more features...
Like you said, we have to learn how to use Git But at the first view I thought "Uh.. thats not so beautiful"

I think this would be good. Being able to have testing revisions that are separate would be really convenient. Sure, we'd have to adjust to the new system, but it would be worth it.

If you do actually move, could you provide some simple command documentation?

I tried Git but could never figure out how it worked.

(Plus once I checked out the source I couldn't compile the code xD)

Huh, if you want to develop you can install Git and, uhm, TortoiseGit I can add you as a committer if you want.

If you just want to compile stuff you can download the whole source as a .zip file somewhere from GitHub, and compile it. It'll be a lot easier if you just want to compile stuff.

And then there's the builds on this page. I still need to fix it so that they're automatic again

How can I make a checkuot in TortoiseGIT? I always end up with the error, that the path of my GIT.exe is wrong. And if I set it, it says, GIT is not installed.

You have to install mingw-git.

But you don't need to.
GitHub has a button at the top left that says "ZIP" that allows you to download the whole source as a .zip file

Doesn't github have a line at the top of the page saying what command you need to run to clone the repository? I thought it did.

Then install Git here:

Sorry for this question, but I should ask well-known people about github like all of you.

When I enter the site what'll I've to do to get the latest builds?
And do I have to build myself does it have auto-build?

Thank you.

Latest builds are in this forum, not in GitHub. Look at the link at the right that says "NSMBe Downloads"

You'll only have to use GitHub if you want to develop NSMBe or compile it from source, which you probably don't.
