good newerds I think it uses a separate editor, I don't know, it uses an original nsmb rom,nsmbe,desmume and voila, oh and I almost forgot nsmbtse that is used to change the title screen, ask me if you need help, friend

Newer DS was made using the NSMBE, so you can edit it’s levels with that too. I’d recommend taking the time to make regular levels first, to get to know the editor, as well as all of its tools. If you need any help, chances are there are other threads already out there, where you can find answers without having to make new threads. Good luck
