For some reason, when I choose a ROM file to load, only whatever was there at the time I started using NSMBE (for the first time) is visible. Like if I tried to open a ROM that was put there later on, it does not show up, no matter what I try to do. Please help because I edited the first level in it, and I cannot revert the changes all because of this.

I edited the first level in my rom hack called “New Super Mario Bros. Remix”. Later I decided to cancel it since I wanted to start all over again from scratch. So later i moved a clean rom to the parent directory of the rom hack’s directory. Then I opened NSMBE and went to the directory, but for some reason, the old rom hack (New Super Mario Bros. Remix) still appears, but the new Rom hack Ultra New Super Mario Bros. Does not appear. Even weirder, I can still make changes to the old rom hack for some reason. I tried reinstalling NSMBe but it did not help. Basically NOTHING is getting refreshed in the open file window, so I am stuck. That’s computers for ya I guess.

This actually sounds more like a Windows error.

Have you closed all windows and restarted the pc?

Try moving everything you need to a different folder and delete the folder with the "old stuff".

I don't know if NSMBe would show hidden files, but try to make the hidden files/folders visible with the Windows Explorer. Maybe the file is hidden for some reason.

Viruses. Don't think that this causes the problem but viruses are weird sometimes.
Some programms offer something that scans a selected file/folder. Try this.

And last: If you dont close NSMBe properly, you can load "backups". As far as I know, these are saved in the main folder of NSMBe and then "Backup". Delete this folder (only do this if you really want to start from scratch)

Are you sure the new file is a ROM and not a .SAV or something?

I’m sorry, but I realized that I made a dumb mistake, but it actually was NOTHING to do with the editor, nor the file explorer. I’m not going to disclose what the mistake was, because now there is no reason to anymore, since 1. The problem is not going to occur with anyone else, 2. Because it’s solved anyway. I’m also sorry for replying so late.
Cya in another thread, I guess.
