Hello,

I am sorry if this was already answered somewhere. But I couldn't find anything with the search function, so I assume I am the first one asking this.

I just wanted to edit a nsc.bin file because I was following this tutorial. It worked perfectly at first but then I made a mistake (I guess) and now the editor won't open ANY nsc.bin in ANY rom. It's not like I get an error message or something, NSMBe just doesn't do anything. It's like pressing a button that has no function associated with it.

I don't know if it was me causing that, but here is what I did, step by step:

> I opened the file, worked perfectly.
> Forgot to decompress it at first, so I closed it again.
> Accidently clicked "Decompress overlay" instead of "LZ Decompress" but as far as I know that shouldn't make any difference.
> Since then it doesn't work.

Does anybody have an idea how to fix that or what I did wrong? I would really appreciate any help.

Open the ROM with another app (MKDS CM, for example);
find the file, right-click on it, import file.

Naturally import a not-modified file from a clean ROM.

EDIT: It happened a lot of times with me, it's really simple to fix it, don't worry.

Also, this happens when you click many times LZ Decompress/Compress on a nsc.bin file too. Tell me if the solution worked.

I just tried it but unfortunately it didn't work... I extracted the file from a clean rom and replaced it in my hack but I still can't open it. As I said I can't open any nsc.bin files, no matter whether or not it's a clean rom or not...

EDIT: Okay, so apparently it was because I didn't delete the star coin "completed" text, the "world" text and the numbers mentioned in your tutorial. Still very strange...

If it were me, in such a case if the bug happens no matter what ROM, I'd probably try redownloading NSMBe to a different folder and see what happens.

Since I fixed it many times doing what I suggested, I think it's not (only) fault of the editor.
