First try to find out why it won't move by yourself. Take a look at the original level he appears (World 4 Castle). You'll see that there's more than only the Mega Goomba boss sprite. You'll need some sort of activator sprite to.. er, activate the boss.

Two methods:

1) Using the "area overflow bug", just search for it.

2) Exporting spl_b04_kri.spa (in "particle" folder, and if Mega Goomba), and replace it with

spl_b01_kpa.spa, if world 1;
spl_b02_snw.spa, if world 2;

and so on.

EDIT: Without any extensive ASM hack, the boss will work only in the castles.

I made some experiments just coping and pasting the levels. The bosses work at castles on emulator. Still working on flashcards, but when you win the boss, the level crashes and the game freezes. I think the ASM code solution was already shared in other threads, but I not found. If someone remember... links are welcome.

Kisses.

NSMB Editor: Change Boss from other Worlds.

Objective:
This post have the objective to show how is easy to change the boss between worlds.
Here we change the World 1 Boss. Let's change Bowser to MegaGommba from World 4.

1. Copyng Levels from other Worlds.
Copy the level 4-Castle from Level List. Select the level and press Copy Level.
In this example, the Mega Goomba is on the Area 2 from 4-Castle.

Pic 1. Just look for the Area 2, 4-Castle and copy it.

2. Pasting Levels from other Worlds.
After copy the level, just select the level where you want to put, and click on Past Level.
In this simple example, we put Mega Goomba Boss Level on the Area 1 of 1-Castle.
Attention: Remeber before copy or export your 1-Castle Area 1 to anywere just for backup.

Pic 2. Paste it on 1-Castle. We use in this example Area 1.

3. Edit you new level.
Now edit your level like you wish. In this example, we change Mega Goomba for fight on a Desert Area,
to appear that Mario is almost reaching the second world (Desert). Save and test.
Attention: Take carefull for not change or delete the control sprites near the (21, 39, 129, etc.)

Pic 3. Edit your level. Take care if the special sprites!

NSMB Editor: Mega Goomba in World 1
Here below we can see the result of this change.
(sorry bad quality, hardware limitations)

Download level:
The level can be download in this link below.
It's works OK on emulator. But, without ASM code, can crashes in some flashcards.

I think you can fix the crashing by moving the boss to area 2.
