I can't set *.nds files to be opened with DeSmuME when I double-click such a file.

I already tried this: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-file-open-program#1TC=windows-7

When click "Choose default program", there's no DeSmuME in the program list, and when I try to add DeSmuME to that list, it doesn't get in the list when I select either the DeSmuME *.exe file or a shortcut to DeSmuME in Windows Explorer.

I think it might be because I haven't installed DeSmuME on my computer. But there is no DeSmuME Installer or something like that. I downloaded DeSmuME from here. Maybe I could download an old version of DeSmuME which does have an installer on some other site, but (of course) I rather use the newest DeSmuME build.

(I'm using Windows 7, btw.)

I have just tried to set a .nds file to be opened with DeSmuME. It works. I am using Windows 7.

However I have installed WinDS Pro, which it made in Documents Folder, a WinDS Pro folder, where are noCASHgba, noCASHzoomer, DeSmuMe, Citra, etc...

I have set the .nds file with that DeSmuMe.

I hope this helps.

You shouldn't have to install it to do so, it should work like other programs. (Like Project 64 or Zsnes)

Did you see if using the properties tab can set it to use DesmuMe?
Alternatively try using the "Choose another app" option and find the original exe for it.

It should work.

Er.. But that's exactly the things I've been doing..

EDIT: Would it be possible to do it via the Windows register?

.-. Oh...
Maybe, I haven't had the time to check.

OR get rid of No$GBA temporarily, open the .nds file so windows can't find No$GBA, close out of the menu and open DesmuMe. Then go to path settings and check "Associate NDS files" and see what else you can do.

I don't have No$GBA, so yeah.. :')

But the rest of your reply does help me. I didn't know there was an "Associate NDS files" option in DeSmuME. So I just went to Path settings, ticked that checkbox, closed DeSmuME, right-clicked some *.nds file, clicked "Open with", and now, DeSmuME is shown in the Program list!

I can finally just double-click any *.nds file to open it with DeSmuME. ^^

Thanks,  TruelyJohn64!
