I haven't tried using the new Xdelta patch, but I can confirm that the NSMBe patch works! Now I can finally play it!

Thanks for taking the time to fix the issues. I'll give you some feedback on the hack once I've finished playing it.

EDIT: Well, forget what I said above. The patch works, but the actual game doesn't run; all I get is a white screen. Looks like my plans to play this hack have been foiled yet again.

I remembered that after patching NSMBe version, game doesn't run. (White Screen) And tileset 0's behavior can't be patched into ROM... But you can watch level's map with NSMBe. Can only watch but can't play... It's annoying...

Yeah, NSMBe patch is glitched... I've PM you a suggestion. You could do that as I said if you want.

It's not glitched you just can't export ASM Hacks.

Oh! Got it!

However... why others can't patch .xdelta??? I tried to patch it for some times, and patch successfully every time. I used xdeltaUI.exe. The following step is how I did when I created patch, "Original file is NSMBu. Modified File is my hack. To create Patch." Does the file's path has to be the same??? (Ps: Only one another person patched it successfully.) Also, I can apply other's patch to output files. Such as NSMB Deluxe and NSMB Origins. I want to solve this problem as quickly as possible. Because it has been being for 10 months since this hack released. But so many people can't play it today...

The reason is because xdelta requires a similar, if not, the exact same ROM.

ROMs released from a team, like Psyfer, etc. usually has modded the first bytes and/or removed stuff, so the rom isnt quite exactly the same used when making the patch.

Just a quick little update; after the mishap with the NSMBe patch, I decided to have a go with the Xdelta patch and I've managed to load the game for proper now. The title screen looks great. Like I said before, I'll get playing and give a review when I'm done. Thanks for fixing it.

Also, you should probably edit the new Xdelta patch link onto your opening post so people can find it more easily.

So you mean that it's due to my different ROM, not the wrong way to create patch? If so, I'll search a new U.

EDIT: Yep... I've got it... I download a new U from website and my old patch doesn't work this time... It seems that I've changed something in U but I didn't notice before... Because the file's date is changed. But I think it will be workable when I create a new patch, again.

I'm very glad to know you like my hack. Thank you very much and hope you have a good time.

I've edited it.

I've spent a few nights playing this, and while I still have a lot left to complete, I pretty much have a good impression of the overall quality and I've checked out a lot of stuff in the editor too. I'm ready to give my feedback. Click the spoiler button for the details.

Overall, I'd say this hack does have a fair share of problems and needs improving. That being said, I have enjoyed some parts enough to be able to overlook a lot of those problems. There are some good things and some not-so-good things. I'd recommend this hack to Kaizo fanatics, but it's honestly not so enjoyable for the more casual Mario players.

The huge number of levels made for Super Mario Forever (the original PC Flash game) range all over the place in terms of difficulty, length and quality. Therefore, it's quite difficult to come up with a fair, steady difficulty curve for a DS adaptation. Besides, what may be difficult for one person might be almost insultingly easy for another (a Kaizo fan, for example).

However, I would like to see such issues as described in the above post (having to die to get a Star Coin, which renders it impossible to permanently collect, and thus makes getting perfect completion impossible) resolved. Of course, we're all free to use NSMBe to fix such issues if we so desire.

Or, just use Action Replay codes for moon jumps, hit anywhere (fireballs auto-kill enemies, and collect powerups and Star Coins from anywhere), and disabling hazard death (so you can "bounce" on lava and poison, but still die from falling into pits).

• Most of the challenges are extremely cheap (one-tile jumps, bizarre secret locations, etc.) and are somewhat reminiscent of the challenges found in SKJMin's NSMB3 (which is often used as an example of how not to make challenges).
• Not sure if this occurs multiple times or just in the one level, but 5-2 has a star coin that's impossible to get due to the area being impossible to exit without dying. This renders 100% completion impossible.
• The difficulty curve is all over the place. Kaizo-esque levels are often found alongside Nintendo difficulty levels.

I learned from NSMB3. And for chanllenges... Most of MW levels are similiar. I choosed some which is suitable with DS style. Only ghost house, airship, tanks level in world 6 is my original levels for this hack...
Which starcoin?
Yep... I couldn't do that very well.

Hi Soig. I would like to play your version. But the patch link is broken. The site says that the file has been removed. Do you have some other link to provide us?

Thanks,
[]-P

I think that "Jason Allen" is some kind of troll.

He took a video intro down, which has nothing to do with Nintendo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUCd-oWrwuQ

I've given you the new links to download the patch.

One is on mediafire, another is on Baidu. I don't know if you can surf on Chinese site. Because it's too hard for me to surf on the foreign sites now..

And sorry for my late reply.

Nah, I think Nintendo and other companies hire 3rd party lawyers to do cease and desists.
