If you're planning to do a hard hack, avoid bullshit such as Kaizo levels and NSMB3 challenges.
I'd rather see a bunch of very short levels with a core and side challenges (for star coins.)

So, uh, the very first star coin in the game relies on a glitch?

...I'm pretty sure most people would turn off the game immediately after learning that.

I don't think you really need it to have glitches. No need to make it kaizo - there's a very lengthy difference between 'extremely ultra very hard' and 'kaizo'. Relying on glitches is part of a kaizo hack. Also I'm pretty sure Mario Must Die is meant to be Kaizo.

I myself am not really any good at kaizo ROM hacks, so I'd say don't make it so hard that only kaizo veterans could pull it off, but make it more difficult than most other NSMB hacks. Also, I personally think glitch use, like in Mario Must Die is not necessarily a good thing, because I find a lot of glitches in Super Mario World are tricky to perform, so therefore I would suspect the same of NSMB glitches. Hope my feedback helps.
