I know games such as SMW, where it's possible to make levels that require lots of glitch abuse to complete. My only question, it that not possible in NSMB? Beause I don't know if there are any known glitches that level creators could take advantage of to make a glitch abuse leve;. Is there any? Please tell me.

There are many, but making a level you need glitches to completes.. may be a bit fun, but many people obviously won't like that.

There is a list of glitches on MarioWiki. Dunno how good it is though. Might be some hacking-only glitches here on nsmbhd.

I can't think of much right now (because of not playing NSMB for quite a while), but you can find a good amout by simply researching 'new super mario bros glitches/bugs'.

I highly recommend not making glitch abuse levels. However, one glitch that I know for sure is that you can push Mario through walls if you can get Super Mario into a 1x1 empty space.

A similar glitch to that can occur if slopes are not constructed with all of the correct tiles. The glitch causes Mario/Luigi to clip through the side of the slope and into the mass of tiles. I run into this glitch a lot when making levels, 'cause for some reason I just can't seem to master the correct way to set up a slope's tiles.

It's not really an efficient glitch. It's because it's a glitch that never occurs in the original game and is just the level designer's fault. Most people probably won't know of this glitch either.

People MUST know the difference between glitch and bug. A bug is an error in a system or video game that produces an undesirable behaviour from it; while a glitch is a bug used on porpuse in order to achieve a goal without adversily affecting the game stability.

I agree with MarioFanatic64, you shouldn't make levels based on glitch abuse, but I think you could use just a little bit some glitches... as long as you don't fuck your levels up. :P

I could not…

There is a Glitch that is may be somewhat usefull for a unique type of level design, it's the lava glitch.

lava can act like water if you use a warp sprite to warp yourself at the same view of the level twice. This will cause the lava (And poison) sprite to be rendered like water with water particles.
This Glitch can be useful to hide a secret area away such as shown at the scene below.

Click at the image to get a better view of it.

So what did i actually do to cause this glitch?

As you can see at the image i´ve setup a switch with a warp sprite on top of it.
When the switch has been activated the player has been warped back to the entrance at the door. This causes the lava sprite to be rendered as water.

Edit 1: when You´ve done it all right it should turn out like this.

Note: The warp sprite gets permanently deactivated at the current area after entering the current view twice. This is a another glitch, but useful to know.

Yes, I have made a hack called Git gud and every single level is kazio and glitch abuse. Some of the glitches I use are tall mario travelling through blocks, lava swimming, offcam teleport through, triggering invisible coin bricks from above, freezing the time at 0 by entering a poop, two way shying ghosts and much, much, MUCH more.

I have filmed only the first two levels and since then, I have added onto w1-2 as well as I have made w1-3 and w1-t. The video for the first two is here.
