When editing the jyotyu tileset, the pipes aren't visible at the 'Map16' and 'Tile Behaviour' tabs. It has been like this for a long time already, but the pipes used to be visible in NSMBe 5.1. Could they come back?

That must be because the pipes don't use the jyotyu tileset but rather textures elsewhere in the ROM, so it's kind of useless.

The pipes are in these files in the ROM.

I know that. The graphics of the pipes aren't in the jyotyu tileset, but they are still sort of used in the tileset. If you want to edit the 'Map16' or 'Tile Behaviours' of the pipes, it's really annoying that you can't see them. Then you have to look where they are by looking at the Objects everytime.

This actually sounds pretty useful, since not seeing them in the Map16 means that you could wind up overwriting them by mistake, and if that happened it would be very annoying to try and restore them without having to re-import the original tileset(if you modified the graphics, that is).

I also think this would a good, useful feature to have re-added to the editor. I also honestly also don't see why they were made invisible in the first place. As people here have said, it gets really annoying when editing the Jyotu tileset. And even if the pipes are actually separate 3D model files, they still are part of the tileset and therefore should be visible in-editor.

They aren't even models, just textures with the property proportions for tiles.

Pipe are used by the jyotyu tileset, but also by some (at least two for sure) sprites.

Edit: Plus, notice the size of the pipes' pallets. Putting the pipes where they did makes things way easier.

"Any idea on why Nintendo put the pipes elsewhere though?" And possibly because there isn't enough pixel space in the tileset, or maybe something todo with Mario going behind the pipes.

The latter. All 2D graphics are on the same layer.
