Hi, I have found new Mario Maker trailer, and I would like to share it.

PS: It looks cool to play in different Mario games from different generations. Plus that ready-to-test function.

Oh my gosh!
I saw the first trailer and was thinking "Meh, looks ok, but I wish I could have NSMB physics or things from other mario games"

THANK YOU NINTENDO!

I love your grammar.

On topic:
I would like to see SMB2 stuff too, actually. But I don't think bosses would work well.

I would also LOVE for them to add the ability to make full games, doesn't need a world map, though.

I would like it, if they did add a world map. Like have it as an option. And use, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe Maps, SMB3,and SMW. But I guess it's going to be pretty hard to link levels.

Yes, but it still seems limited. Its just a decor swap. No palette eidtor, no background element editors...

Im hoping to make smooth levels. Was never a fan of challenge type levels.

No shit like P-Switches and events either. Guess this shit is really only meant to let kids have some fun.

I'm still curious to see if it will fuel the ROM hacking scene, though.

Well rom hacking offers more possibilities.. so maybe one day, some guys will come and say something like this:

I played Mario Maker on Wii U but I wanted to edit the BGs so I would like to try this [...].

They have added a two themes, vertical scrolling, water levels, more enemies, more powerups (and maybe more).

It will only be equivalent to ROM hacking if you can customize absolutely everything that Nintendo can for their levels. And to be equivalent to ASM in rom hacking, you will need to be able to customize behaviour of sprites and gameplay modes.

I am not sure the Wii U could handle such thing, but yeah.

I saw the trailer and i'm really excited for this. I think it's going to be a part of the 30th Anniversary of the Mario franchise, because next year will be the 30th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros.

The Wii U could definitely handle that. I mean, the 3/DS/i can handle mini-programming stuff (warioware, basic)

Is it just me, or are the colours off on that SMW grass tileset?

Although it certainley won't be as powerfull as ROM hacking, ot is great to see Nintendo intrested in creating such things as this. I do like the editor, though. It may not be the best but it looks pretty good.

EDIT: Also, nice to see they removed that ugly filter on the SMB1 tileset.

It looks like it's come a long way since what we saw at E3.

-Vertical Scrolling.
-Ability to adjust level length.
-Customizable Music.
-Large Variety of different themes. (Overworld, Castle, Underwater, Underground, etc.)
-4 Different Art Styles.
-Lots of new enemies.
-Lots of new functions for objects and enemies.
-Solid-on-top Platforms.
-More Powerups.
-Indication that each art style has its own unique functions. (ie. The SMB3 level ending)

What it needs to be a sale from me:
-Slopes.
-More manipulable terrain.
-Graphics Editor.
-The ability to produce full length games that you can share online.
-Support for SMB2 features.
Ability to place two Mario's in a stage, or Double Cherry powerup.
