Basically, this: HNNNNGH. Why is YouTube being so stupid? There are others here who have no problem with YouTube, am I doing something wrong? Because there seems to be no option to get rid of YouTube's automatic letterbox bars squishing my videos. EDIT: Success! I have found the solution! It had something to do with my movie maker, PowerDirector. It shows up normally after exporting, but when uploading it, the black bars appear out of nowhere. I copy-pasted the video into Windows Movie Maker, uploaded it to YouTube via the Movie Maker function, and hey presto, problem solved. New Super Mario Bros.: Clone Tag Team 1+2 / New Super Mario Advance + Take 2 / Super Mario: Endless Earth My two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. |

Just saying: Use something better to play videos than Windows Media Player. It sucks balls. Windows Media Player stretches videos that have "that black bar on top and bottom" of a video to the screen size of WMP.
That is why it looked fine when testing it on your local disk. My recommendation: VLC

That's never happened to me before. There are settings like "resize video to player", but I have it disabled and I have enabled "resize player to video", so it plays at the video's native resolution. WMP wasn't the problem, it was something to do with PowerDirector that was stretching my videos. Oh ok. Still WMP is not a nice player. It can't even play Matroska files (.mkv)
