The first one seems to be the red dots for the end of the lines that the moving platforms use.

They are in a similar fashion to the ones used in SMB3.

I know this is really old, but you see, IMO, world 1 should be the last world you design.
That way when you have made the other worlds, you have a good grasp on how your levels and themes are set off, and in that way, you can create polished, simple levels that might serve as an intro to feel what's in store.
