Yes, we can help SKJmin.

It's called ASM Hacking.

Go look around for the ASM tutorials around here, to learn more about it. If Assembly looks too hard to write from scratch, insert C code.
If all of that's too tough for you, then... you're stuck I think.

EDIT: Make your images smaller, and put them in the
[spoiler]
tag. They're way too big.

And, I can't find a place to download your hack. Your official websites no longer have the download link.

Ah, to hard for me
I think I'll skip this feature then...

You can find my latest rev here:
http://filetrip.net/g35132041-New-Super-Mario-Bros-3-%5Bby-SKJm-.html

I'm working on the next rev already... 2.5!
The hack is almost perfect! With the new 197 and 168 sprites, it'll be much better...

Even when the FLY option is available through ASM, I won't include it...
To tell the truth, I'm getting sick of that

I think I'll release a very final version and make walktroughs + re-openening my website!

It's reserved already, but nothing included so far...

Maybe Dirbaio, NsmB_PrO, ray, Garmichael, Piranhaplant, or someone else more skilled in NSMB hacking can help you.
I'm still not very good at NSMB hacking. Just the ASM route is the one that I know that will work for sure if you want to peruse it.

Kinda off topic, and FYI: Sprite 83 might help doing some things in your hack.

Ah sorry, was tired whil opening this thread
Doesn't matter which block, just a behavior with those 2 features, when it's even possible!
Luckkwii, Ray and me couldn't find a solution for that

Dirbaio, have you played SMB3 before?

Well, on the first level, there is this platform thing (as seen in SKJmin's picture of that white block) that if you crouch long enough, you will be able to go behind all the bushes and blocks, and stuff. Then, when you get to the end of the level, you go behind the black part at the end with that random card chooser block, and you get a whistle.

He wants something like that. But, I dunno if he wants the bushes and blocks to change behaviors too. Do you want them to change, SKJmin?

There are 2 white blocks in the first world of SMB3!
In 1-1 and in 1-3!

The one in 1-3 doesn't give you anything special!
Jusr ruunning behind the bushes...
(but the most will try that in my first course)

The second of that is in 1-3, which leads you to the warp-whistle in the original game (mine: SC#3, through connected pipes)
I just set it way high so no one can jump on the "solid-pipe-behaviors" from below!

It acts like a pipe but it is solid

"All I want" is, that it should be jumpable to top from bottom and the top of that should act like a pipe, so everyone can enter it by just pressing DOWN!
So. entering a pipe from above + 00 00 00 80

Image of 1-3 (enlargeable)

I'm not sure but you could try this:
LEFT PART OF PIPE
20 00 01 81
RIGHT PART OF PIPE
21 00 01 81

Go and try (I have no time at the moment to test )

I see that it's solid already, there is no need to try this...
Please tryo before posting to let my hopes down

we all know that
It's the same data as the water. It's used in 2-3 for example.

That's what I was saying. The data for the lava can do the same as for the water

And "brightness" is not actually brightness. It's transparency. It was originally called brightness because no$gba doesn't support transparency and it causes the water/lava/poisonwater to get a black background. Then, more transparency means more black -> less "brightness".

Ok, I have uploaded a new trailer of my upcoming 2.5!

Damn you Luckwii, I did't want to make anything more to my NSMB3...
This is your fault...

However, have fun with this small trailer, called LAVA FUN^^

Hmm... I never found the nibble for the transparency in the lava sprite Perhaps because I use no$gba to test all...

I've been hacking the lava sprite recently, and I couldn't find a transparency one either. I don't think they have it. I think there's quite a few things that water has, and Lava doesn't.
Still need to hack it more though. I'm still puzzled what the fourth byte does (If you count the first byte as 1).

OK, everone here knows here that I'm rally not interested in adding new sprite-features nor in hacking/modding textures
Let's say, I found the transparency thing through a "bug"...

I wanna tested something with enemies (and I can't get the 168+197 with enemies to work in VIEW =!0)
So i changed exchanged the views 0 with 1 together and once I re-entered the game, I died by the "WATER" (Water is just colored RED and act like a laval!)
As you can see, It looks more like water than lava! This lava in the movie above is SPRITE 231 [WATER]

I can upload the nml, when someone wants it!
