Does anyone know where I can download the newest version of NSMBe for DS?
I know that this project has been dead (/sleeping..) for a long time, but with the newest one I mean the least old one. |

But I couldn't find a download link for a ROM/patch anywhere. ![]() I only found this link: https://code.google.com/p/nsmb-editor-ds/source/list But there wasn't a download link as far as I know. |

No, you will have to build it. I don't know how though

Huh. There is the .nds file. You don't have to compile it (And if you'd like to, you have to use DevkitPro).
Just use this to download the Google Code. But why do you even care? This project is dead and will not be worked on soon. Also it is very bugged not easy to use. _________________________ GitHub - Kuribo64 - YouTube |

(Maybe you didn't mean to, but the way you said it sounded pretty rude.) If I want to know where the latest version of NSMBe DS is, I'm allowed to ask for that here, aren't I? Posted by Mariomaster Thank you. |

Oh my god, this thing! It's been so much time already lol.
I have moved it to GitHub since google code is dying: https://github.com/Dirbaio/nsmb-editor-ds And yes, you will have to build it yourself if you want to use it. Do not use the .nds in the repo, it's outdated. To build it: - install devkitPro. - Download the repo (you can download a zip from github and unzip it) - If you have Windows: Go to the repo folder and double-click build.bat - If you have Linux: Go to the repo folder in a terminal and run 'make' - If nothing bad happened you'll have the .nds To run it: - Copy a NSMB U rom in the MicroSD root, name it 'nsmb.nds' - Copy the editor - Run the editor in the NDS ![]() EDIT: clarified some things |

It may be cancelled and outdated, but still it's nice for quick edits, or just for fun.

Posted by KingYoshi 4) Dirbaio, now that you remember your NSMBe DS, are you going to consider about continuing the project? I don't think he will, since: Posted by Dirbaio on his youtube channel UPDATE: Well, I don't know what to say, but I consider this as one of my failed projects. It probably won't get finished, I lack motivation to code it, maintaining two versions of the editor is not fun, and the capabilities of the DS are quite limited, which makes the editing experience not as satisfying as with NSMB Editor (the PC version)... Posted by KingYoshi
2) Linux? I only have Windows. Do I need a Windows computer and a Linux computer? Look closely: Posted by Dirbaio - Windows: Go to the repo folder and double-click build.bat 7 - Linux: Go to the repo folder in a terminal and run 'make' One option is for if you are on Linux, the other is for if you are on Windows. Note that any user, not only you, might want to get the editor, so he posted it for everyone. EDIT: Question, are the txt files now integrated to the .nds? |

1) Add it to my 'PATH'? I've looked it up and it seems the devkitpro Windows installer already does it for you, so you don't have to do anything. Posted by KingYoshi
2) Linux? I only have Windows. Do I need a Windows computer and a Linux computer? Oh, sorry, I should have made it clearer, if you have linux do the linux thing, if you have windows do the windows thing, you don't need both. ![]() I have edited the post to clarify it. Posted by KingYoshi 3) Why isn't there just a xDelta patch download? Wouldn't that be easier? Actually, the NSMBeDS rom file is not illegal to distribute, it's made from scratch, it doesn't contain any copyrighted code from Nintendo. So posting an xdelta wouldn't solve anything. I could post the rom file directly if I had it. Posted by KingYoshi 4) Dirbaio, now that you remember your NSMBe DS, are you going to consider about continuing the project? Well, if I had some free time I'd spend it improving NSMBe, not NSMBeDS, I think it would be more useful

Wow, I didn't know a tool like this existed.
If only we had something like this for nsmb2... |

For NSMB2, it's a different thing.. IMO. It would be useless and doing it on a 3DS would be a pain. Doing it on a PC is just fine (totally the opposite of my opinion for the DS one).

@Thierry
Why then? If you're talking about making levels, I don't think there's much difference between those two games. |
