So the developers of "Hyrule Warriors" which are called "Tecmo Koei" have announced that they are also interested in working with other franchises for example Mario.
What do you think about this? Would you buy a "Mushroom Kingdom Warriors" or smth. like this?  And if not... would you accept if Nintendo agrees to such a project? No, plz no. They tainted the zelda series with the lolbutton masher that Hyrule Warriors is n(with lame enemy AI, among other things). The only positive thing from that its perhaps the fanservice or play as someone other than link.
I Unless they create something that isnt a Dynasty Warriors game. But otherwise, no. Tecmo Koei games have not met quality in the past games (just look at fist of the north star: Kens rage...) _________________________ |

Seriously, Mario and Link only must be seen together in SSB. Disney? Mickey would look fine with his Epic Mickey design. Star Wars? that's the worst idea what i've saw, swords doesn't combine with laser swords, that's an Intergalactic rule. _________________________ Being a role job model is overrated, i'd much rather be hilariously edgy. |

I don't have any problems with this. As much of a mindless beat-em-up Hyrule Warriors is, it's mighty fun. I imagine a Mario game by Techmo Koei wouldn't work the same way. Hey, we might finally get an open world 3D Mario with those guys. New Super Mario Bros.: Clone Tag Team 1+2 / New Super Mario Advance + Take 2 / Super Mario: Endless Earth My two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart. |

Ii agree with mariofanatic64, Zelda already had all they needed to do this, but Mario doesn't include a siingle sword (That I can remember at least).

He has used a hammer though... in SMW cutscenes and Paper Mario games.
EDIT: Oh yes, in the other Mario RPGs also

Think of what happened to Spyro. It got completely ruined by it being turned into Skylanders. Although this probably wouldn't happen if Mario was in a game like this, it would be very bad for Nintendo if it did.

In my opinion I think that such a Mario game wouldn´t be bad. I really like Hyrule Warriors. Of course it shouldn´t be a part of the main Mario series but as you all know the Mario franchise has many parts like Mario Kart or Mario Party. So an addition like this wouldn´t be a bad idea.

I think what people need to understand is that if Techmo Koei does make a Mario game, it is by no means the death of classic Mario. I think that fan-mindset is the reason why we got 3D World instead of Galaxy 3 or another ground-breaking Mario title. This Mario game would have no negative repercussions for Nintendo. Like Hyrule Warriors, it would be developed completely independently of Nintendo's own games, and should merely be treated as a gameplay alternative to existing Mario games. If you don't want to play such a Mario game then you don't have to. In fact, Hyrule Warriors was made non-canon specifically so fans who had a self-delusion of personal betrayal regarding the spin-off had no obligation to play it. Such would be the same for Mario. Not that the Mario series even has a consistent canon. Yeah, I wouldn't consider a "Mushroom Kingdom Warriors" type of game to be canon.
While there are games like Luigi's Mansion and Luigi's Mansion 2, those games may not entirely be canon but at least they seem to tie in with canon games, especially Luigi's Mansion with Super Mario Sunshine. To me, a Mario game like "Mushrom Kingdom Warriors" would be more like Super Mario RPG, the Paper Mario games, or even the Super Mario Land series. In short, I wouldn't mind if Techmo Koel made a Mario game but even if they did make an open-ended Mario game, I still wouldn't consider it canon if it were like Hyrule Warriors, for example. |
