I was wondering if there is a way to make auto-scrolling work in one view of an area with multiple views, like certain sprite data, or something to that extent. I've been wondering about this for a couple of weeks and have been looking around to see if anyone else has had a similar question.

Doesn't auto scroll only activate when it is on screen? Won't going to another view or area deactivate it?

I mean, going from a view that doesn't have it, to a view that does.

Yeah. Put the autoscroll controller in the view that you want to autoscroll. It should start autoscrolling if it is set up properly. Try messing around with an existing autoscroll level.

I tried making two separate views in 7-7, one where the level starts and doesn't have an auto-scroll, and then entering a pipe goes to the view with the auto-scroll and it didn't work.

I really don't know. I've tried messing around with the sprite data, and I can't find a combination that lets it activate from an entrance that isn't a start or midway one.

Hm, then I guess the part of the level that is meant to have auto-scroll will have to wait until more is figured out.

Where the autoscroll path and sprite are in relation to the entrance matters, else the scrolling doesn't start. Make sure that's setup right.

Okay, so I created a warp from Area 1 to Area 2 in the view where the sprite was, and the auto-scroll worked properly, but upon entering the view from another view in Area 2, the auto-scroll did absolutely nothing. So "area to area" does work, but "view to view" does not.

Sounds like it is getting disabled or something.
How about area 1 to area 2 to area 1? |
