go to the view of the music you want to change, look for music and it should be easy from there.

Ok I know this is a bit late but
I’d rather say something for those who aren’t familiar with the topic anyways and happen to click on this thread.
If you’re trying to change the music in a level, you have to select the view you want, and then there should be a bar on the left side of the screen. If you look at the bar you should be able to see the current song coded to the view on the side. You should just be able to click on it and then change your song up.
If you were curious about how to create new music, that’s a bit more complicated. There are plenty of good tutorials on it, but basically you need to learn midi editing and a few commands to import and loop your songs.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me

Yeah, I'm ALSO having some trouble with the music stuff... I've learned how to use SM64 ROM Manager's Music Manager AND AddMusicK for Super Mario World, so yeah--this one will probably be like learning AddMusicK; it won't be super straightforward. Although, Nightmare Mario DS seems to be stuck right now...mostly due to a lull in my motivation, and also not knowing what to put to be straight-up torturous to players. So I could use a little help here.

There's a tutorial video about SM64DS music hacking by Gota7 that applies to all other DS games as well. But yeah, when music hacking feels more complicated than code hacking (that's what I feel)...

Flareon shoarma doesn't need to be baked anymore, it's pre-baked.

I just noticed. Is your hack a kaizo hack? I have an idea based on the OG Kaizo Mario World: use an offscreen Bullet Bill spawner and let it spawn a wall of Bills flying to the right, each being two tiles away from adjacent ones (so with one empty tile between them). The wall stretches out to the ceiling and the player will have to carefully bounce off the Bills while avoiding getting hit by the other ones or running out of Bills to bounce on and falling into the pit. Bonus points if you have to start off as Small Mario/Luigi.

Also, SKJmin has done some kaizo-ish stuff for his Starman Run levels. Maybe you can check out his channel for inspiration.
