Its good, although I spent more time watching other people play it as a kid than actually playing it myself as a teenager
lol. theres many games or romhacks of games that i know exist but i havent gotten around to playing (sometimes i even have them installed, steam library as an example). I will probably be out of state for another month, but we're temporarily going home for a day or so, during that I might bring my Wii or at least get another backup of its NAND just in case to play a backup copy via emulator.

You can just use dolphin, that's much easier and safer than modding your Wii

My Wii is already modded lmao. I probably have a NAND dump thats old on my PC still too, I just would prefer to get a new backup just in case. I've had that Wii for nearly 11 years, very good still.

Yeah it does, since I had a nearly 100% save of NSMBWII that my family spent like 5 years working on

Yeah, I could try and transfer it but I already have saved data in the Wii U so we would have to somehow back that up too which is going to be hard because we loaded the same games in the wii u

I think there's a save-game manager homebrew application where u can backup the save then load another save (i do that for Mario Kart Wii sometimes)

The original, because well, it actually introduced some original concepts and much of the designs for it were never seen since.

The rest kinda felt rehashed, though NSMBW finally brought 4-player simultaneous multiplayer, something I believe Miyamoto wanted since what, SMB3?

NSMB2 was beyond forgettable save some levels which were fairly interesting, mostly in the water world.

Yep. It is. Plus it's free, easy, safe and legal (excepting for using ROMs, but Nintendo doesn't sell wii games, so you will not risk anything). It's so easy I spent more tima doing it on Dolphin.

Also, I highly recommend installing the Open Shop Channel

Check out my mod, New Mini SMB!

OSC has helped me PLENTY with getting good Homebrew on the Nintendo Wii XD.

Whenever I am finally moved in (hopefully soon), I'm planning on doing some major changes to my own Wii. Mainly giving it a hard-drive that I can boot games off of in order to not use the disc drive as much and some other fun stuff like that. Tbh if I were really extreme, I would straight up just use my Wii as a computer with Linux XD. Although I might not even need that if I stuck to HTTP sites like Paint and Jul along with RC24/WiiLink mail and ACCF for voice-chat (sadly, the mail is harder to use that well outside of messaging other Wii people since you have to friend them first, which good luck unless you have a secondary contact method, but it is cool to have Wii Mail still).

Back to the normal topic of the thread tho, NSMB Wii is peak, with NSMB DS being around the same amount.

This thread has been bumped countless times without anyone minding, so I guess it's no problem if I bump this thread too.
My favourite NSMB game is NSMBW (mind you, I've never played 2, U/UDX/NSLU). The controls just feel natural (play NSMBW for a while, not playing NSMBDS. If you return to DS, I'm sure you'll shake your DS trying to perform a midair spin). Yeah, the courses are hard, but that's more a matter of gitting gud (except for that World 9 course with the floating frozen Munchers, where getting the last Star Coin is near-kaizo). Also, the power-ups are amazing, and the midair spin really buffs Mini Mario's jumps! My favourite course is the World 8 one with the Bone Coasters. If we're counting hacks, then NewerDS (haven't played NewerWii yet. I will install Riivolution someday so I can play it) - it just doesn't feel like a hack anymore!

Off of like a more technical view than what I posted 4 years ago I’d say 2 might actually be my favorite (please don’t shoot me). It personally feels the best, and while it might be the least original one, it’s still the most fun to play through, at least to me.

In other news my Wii is fixed now so that above info is no longer relevant

We're friends now, fuzzy. Welcome to the "NSMB2-is-a-good-game" gang. Only thing I didn't like, was how they ruined the overworld and athletic themes by making the entire songs out of bahps. Look, I don't mind bahps, but with those two songs they went too far.
