But it will still be a 3D model.
There's no way to make 3D sprite like the piranha plants or the spinies use 2D graphics like the goombas and koopas.

You have to create a plane, or a flat face, then texture it.

but that's not what he wants!!!.
He wants it to use a 2D graphics so that it can be edited with the normal graphics editor.

Making a flat 3D model is just stupid.

Do you actually want it 2d as the game sees it as a 2d object, or do you want to make it look like a 2d object using 3d?

There's a difference between it looks 2d and it is 2d.

Then good luck with that.
HINT: The results will not be what you want.

You can't "change" a 3d object into a 2d object. You're leaving out a dimension of space. You can't have 2d describe a 3d object.

Unless you mean you want to create a sprite animation by rendering a 3d animation. Then that's possible.

Oh. yea you can do that. You just need to create a custom nsbmd with all your custom animations and textures and all that fun stuff. Probably not a very fun thing to do... we don't even know how to create animated textures on objects yet.
