Posted by Piranhaplant I know how to use GIMP much better, so I use that for basic editing, but PhotoShop is a lot more powerful, so I use that for things GIMP can't do. Oh, ok^^ I think GIMP is much more complicated than Photoshop. But probably only, because learned Photoshop much earlier. |

Can you tell me what Photoshop can do, that GIMP can't? I know someone who passed a Photoshop class with GIMP (even when the teacher requested for psd). And it makes me that this is another thread going off topic. I guess no one really cares about what our desktops look like anymore...? |

LOL Dirbaio. You should be careful when taking pictures of your desktop because I can now predict some things about you. For example: -There's a 3rd NSMBHD Logo with a Goomba and a Jungle background?!? -You most likely illegally got a NSMB USA ROM and use it for your stuff. I recognized that file name. NOTE: NO! I didn't pirate my US ROM! I legally dumped mine from a NSMB flashcart I got with a DS Lite, SuperCard DSONEI, and some Flashcart util (can dump ROMS & Saves) |

This is the desktop I had on my old laptop.
I hadn't powered it on for months until now because I needed a Windows computer to run nLite to install XP to the new laptop http://nsmbhd.net/get.php?id=94. It's also a mess. |

I bet I can beat you all on simplicity.
I like Ubuntu's default look. Edit: I'd show you my KDE desktop on Arch, but I have yet to fix my X server |

Here's mine.
I sometimes get a couple columns of random files on my desktop, but it makes me feel unclean and I have to file them away into their proper homes. I also do the unpopular "taskbar on the right" thing. I started doing it when I had a widescreen tablet pc, and having all my icons and stuff on the right made it easier to do stuff without reaching my arm across the whole screen, and now, I can't imagine going back to having the taskbar along the bottom. I hate when my taskbar buttons for windows do that grouping crap, and I sometimes have like 20 windows open (especially at work), so having them all in list form rather than left-to-right-cramped-up is real helpful. Finally, I love putting all my frequently used programs in the bottom right and keeping them off my desktop. So.. let's see how many of my taskbar icons you guys can name. There's a few I'm 100% sure no one will get though. |
