The level design is certainly very interesting and dynamic. Reminds me of ZementBlock's NSMBW levels.

My opinion on the graphics:
3. screenshot: My eyes feel offended somehow. Maybe the "brick-background" should be a bit darker?
4. screenshot: The pipe edges don't look good. I assume, the normal edges have been replaced by the blue pipe?

On the other hand I really love the bricks and your castle build style. You build them with stonebricks and that looks cool, especially with the normal ground covered by stonebricks.

I tried to implement the sort of level design we used to do at Pouetpu-games.com's Super Mario Flash 2. I'm glad you liked it. I don't know who ZementBlock is, though. :P

I cannot do that because of the fact that the background has to be lighter than the ground, which is brown. Nevertheless, I'll figure out. Maybe in the future I change the entire tileset's graphics.

Yes, they have been replaced by the blue pipe. You're right, it does not look. I have to change its graphics. Thanks for telling! I'll update the first post with a new version with a re-textured metal pipe joint.

Thanks! I had tried not to use the standard castle ground as they are normally used.

A lot of the tilesets look really nice(which reminds me that I should try making my own for Luigi Time, rather than using some of the ones that I found on spriter's resource and DShack), and the hack's plot sounds interesting as well, so I plan on downloading the patch after I get my computer back in May.

A lot of tilesets? LOL, I only modified the grassland and Jyotyu tilesets, haha, but thanks anyway. :D And you always have issues with your computer. :/ Must be frustrating.

However, new revision! Fixed some things and changed the texture of the pipe joint.

Looks pretty good. Is there a way I could help with development?

As in level, graphics and music editing/hacking, you can't. But you can help if you report bugs, glitches, cut-off tiles and stuff like that. :) Thanks in advance.

From the little I've seen, I can say,
- Not bad. Really not bad.
- Mixing classic and the new.

However, I may be mistaken, the levels seem, for me, too long.
Perhaps decreasing slightly the course, or breaking into two distinct levels, it can be a good idea.

But this is only an opinion of who just saw.
I could not play. Your patch in the main post is not working.

Error on Xdelta: the classic XD3_INVALID_INPUT.

Patch tested: A New Story [ U ].xdelta (640.735 bytes - 2016-01-09)
You are using an original and completely virgin US-ROM, dated 2006, correct?

Yes, that's correct. But sadly, I don't have the base ROM at my disposal, so I cannot make another patch for now. Funny how this is noticed more than half-year after I originally posted this hack.

The levels are actually shorter than you think, whether you choose to collect the Star Coins or not. And you have unlimited time, I just hadn't edited the HUD. The only exception for "short level" is W1-A, which is very long. In actuality, that's the reason I moved it to World 9, as well as the fact that it doesn't fit the World 1's main theme/difficulty.

I do not know if that's a good thing or bad but...
It just proves that no one actually tried to play this hack... until now.
