I wonder why the P Switch is called a P Switch. What does that "P" mean? MarioWiki.com doesn't even know it.

Pata is an onomatopoeia for a flapping sound. P in P Switch does not stand for pata.

The canon meaning of the P in P-Wing is "Paratroopa", as in Paratroopa Wing. But I can only assume the P in P Switch stands for Power.
