How can I change the symbol of the Star Coins (the one in red) with this picture? I tried to do, but it was always wrong. The files where you have to change this I know, but I do not know how to do. |

? Go into the sprite database and replace the image, but that would also change it in level as well

Here we go.
Note that I'm not trying to patronize you (or anyone else for that matter), this is just the way I do tutorials, better be safe than sorry Step 1 First things first, double click on this file located on the folder uiStudio: d_2d_UI_O_1P_game_in_o_ud_ncl.bin Step 2 On the palette viewer tick "16 Color" and then click "Add all" Step 3 Now go and double-click on UI_O_1P_game_in_d_ncg.bin Step 4 Put "Tile width" at 4 and tick "View in 4pbb format". Step 5 Select palette number 2, click on "Export this bitmap" and save it under the name "ImageName"1. *ImageName can be anything you want. Step 6 Open the "ImageName"1 and the image you want to insert with Photoshop. Step 7 On the extracted image delete everything but this: Step 8 Insert the Moon bit (this is what it is right?) where the Star Coin used to be. Step 9 Now go to Image -> Mode -> Indexed Colors: Number of colors must be 15. Transparency should be ticked. Palette mode should be Local (Selective). Note that the green and the white must stay. Step 10 Now save the image under the name "ImageName"2, only then undo all the changes done on "ImageName"1. Do NOT close Photoshop yet. Step 11 Back to NSMBe Texture Editor, select palette number 5, click on "Import this bitmap and recreate palette" and insert "ImageName"2. Step 12 Select palette number 2, click on "Export this bitmap" and save it under the name "ImageName"3. Step 13 Close the Texture Editor WITHOUT saving (you'll see why later), and repeat steps 1 to 4. Step 14 Back on Photoshop, delete the Star Coin as well as the quadrant on "ImageName"1. Step 15 Now copy-paste the Moon Bit and the quadrant from "ImageName"3 where the original Star Coin and quadrant used to be. Step 16 Save "ImageName"1, now we're done with Photoshop so you can close it. Step 17 Repeat step 11. Step 18 Select palette number 2, click on "Import this bitmap with existing palette" and insert "ImageName"1. Step 19 Click "Save all" and close the Texture Editor. Step 20 Extract the file d_2d_UI_O_1P_game_in_o_ud_ncl.bin by clicking "Extract". Step 21 Select the file UI_O_1P_game_in_o_ud_ncl.bin and click "Replace", select the file extracted at step 20. Step 22 Click on "LZ Decompress" while still having UI_O_1P_game_in_o_ud_ncl.bin selected, this will put the file size at 512 bytes. This is the last step. Enjoy the Moon bits |

You can call me blind but I don't see any Moon Bits in that image lol.
But anyways those are the files you want to modify: d_2d_UI_O_1P_game_in_o_ud_ncl.bin UI_O_1P_game_in_o_ud_ncl.bin UI_O_1P_game_in_d_ncg.bin Are you sure you modified both palettes? Also something I should have told earlier is that the first palette is palette 0, so palette 2 and 5 are respectively the third and the sixth palette. Re-insert the 3 files from a clean ROM and try again from there, I got it to work so if you follow those steps there's no reason it won't work for you too |

No way. I tried two more times and always the same result, so do not know how to do.

So, any progress? Do the Moon bits appear correctly or not?
I'm asking that because at that point no one knows if the problem is solved or not, except for you lol. |

Oops… seems like I didn't take into account that the palette for the Star Coins was only for the bottom screen.
Here is the updated palette for the Star Coins when they are loaded on the top screen: d_2d_UI_O_1P_game_in_o_ud_TEN_ncl.bin Sorry for the inconvenience |
