Is there any way the editor can lay out the title screen like a level? So that the objects, background, or anything be able to be edited?

Maybe the background can be swapped for something that doesn't move?

Is there anything that can be added to the editor to have more control over the title screen or menus? I know we can edit them a little using the ncg. files, but currently it is very difficult.

Well, the stuff displayed in the title screen is not a level. It's a tile map. I don't know where is it stored, or if it's generated by code.

I do think the backgrounds and the actual ncg's are the same as they're used in levels.

The backgrounds are different than regular game levels yes. They are in the ncg folder. But they can be edited by import/export.

So do you think it would be possible to display this tile map if the data was found?

Yeah, adding support for it would not be hard. Also that's something I want to add for BGs (bgs are tilemaps too) so yes

It has its own tileset as well. It is similar to the Grassland tileset. I know which files they are if you need them.

background:
d_2d_I_M_back_demo_castle_ncg.bin + ncl.bin

castle and hills:
d_2d_I_M_free_demo_castle_ncg.bin

tileset:
d_2d_I_M_tikei_demo_castle_ncg.bin
