It sure would be nice if there was a way to re-spawn enemies in the same screen. Right now, you only get one a time. The enemy in pipe only has the Goomba and Spiny. Anyone have any tricks to re-spawn enemies?

Yes Goombas and Bob-ombs too, but other enemies would be even better. I want to see if there is a way to re-spawn enemies without the enemy in pipe. A lot of times I am using a different sprite sets and cannot use the enemy in pipe. Or, there are times when I need an enemy to keep coming on screen as part of my level build. In that case it sucks when the enemy dies, and never comes back.

Say for instance you need a Koopa to jump on to get to a high ledge. Or you want some other enemy to come back if it gets killed in order to progress through the level.

Using an enemy as a platform isn't quite nice level design imo... if I were you I'd avoid it in the first place.

However, one way is to let the player go back far enough- when they come back, the enemy should respawn (unless it was killed with a fireball, iirc).

That was just an example to illustrate what I mean. I just want to know if there any ways of re-spawn other than the obvious.

As far as I know, this is not possible

A sprite, when it dies, is marked as "dead" and never respawns...
