The chasing ones. They are REALLY annoying. Specially the big purple fish that eats you. Also the one in SMB3 that is red and jumps from the water to eat you.

Chasing. Definitely.
They're the smartest enemies, which makes them the most difficult. But, I still think it is kinda funny when the purple fish eats you in NSMB! He swallows you whole, Mario makes a groaning sound, and the fish swims happily off the screen.

If I could vote for the second most hated enemy, I would also vote for flying. The crow in NSMB is the one that is also very annoying.

I do not know, if the crow is a "Flying" enemy. Because it is also chasing Mario. I love crows in NSMB. They are absolutely cute, and if you have enough from them, just kill 'em.

I hate the spineys that are on the ceiling in Super Mario World (SMW is my 2nd fav mario game, was my 1st till galaxy 2 came out... )

My most hated kind of enemy is probably the plants, because of how they just hide in their pipe and come out to shoot you whenever they feel like it, and are generally just jerks.

Why PLANTS?
 If you are fire mario, they cannot do anything. Also, if you stand ON the pipe, the plants can't come out.

I voted for the chasing ones. E.g. the fish in the one level that tries to get you. Annoying.
