But I did not change the ? block or brick block, just the metal block. And the metal block doesn't change with the pallete.
So how do I adapt them? |

You need to open all the files stated here: List of Bitmaps wich are using the jyotyu palette
Then you need to open these palettes in the BG_ncl folder: d_2d_A_J_jyotyu_B_ncl.bin
d_2d_A_J_jyotyu_F_ncl.bin
d_2d_A_J_jyotyu_ncl.bin
d_2d_A_J_jyotyu_R_ncl.bin
d_2d_A_J_jyotyu_W_ncl.bin Export all Bitmaps with all Palettes.Edit the tiles in that image you want, using a good image editing software. Import All. That is it. |

Are you saying those files contain the metal block?
I use paint.net I know how to do normal tilesets. |

OR draw the things in the integrated graphics editor without exporting/importing anything. Then it'll work because you're not modifying any palette.

It happens because when you import graphics with NSMBe, it rebuilds the palette from scratch. When it does this, the colors are not in the same order as they were originally, so anything else that used the same palette will have the colors mixed up. If you edit it with the built in graphics editor, this doesn't happen because it doesn't rebuild the palette. |

The best way to edit the Jyotyo-Stuff is to open all pallets and then all bitmaps. Now you click export all bitmaps with all palletes. Then you edit the exported bitmap as you like to. Afer that you click in the editor Import all bitmaps and recreate all palletes. This way you won't get any corruption.

That is true:
That is not true: Second part is not true, because if you export/import each bitmap, the palette would change every time again, messing up the other bitmaps again. So you need to export ALL bitmaps at once with the 5 jyotyu palettes, and import ALL bitmaps at once again. So the palette recreates itself matching up with ALL the objects using the palettes. |

Thanks. I actually never understood the pallete window completely, but now I know it is for multiple images.
EDIT: Isn't this a bit tedious, having to import all those files just for a tiny change to jyotyu? EDIT2: Actual question there ^ and here V Do you actually have to export and import with all palletes for each bitmap, or can you just press save? |
