What is the best import/export method to repair our hacks if there is corruption? Obviously it would be a way that doesn't destroy any edited levels, tilesets, or sprites. Would making a patch using the editor tools menu do it? An Xdelta style patch? What do you guys use?

I have a tileset right now that seems to be corrupt. It is giving the "outside array" type error message. I can import new tilesets over with no change. I can import into the same tileset of a clean rom with no troubles. But for some reason, my rom will not allow editing it. It gives the error and then won't even open the level. I have tried patching to a clean rom as well.

One method would be to regularly take backups of your hack. So that if it gets unremediably corrupted for whatever reason, you can restart from your most recent backup, instead of having to redo everything.

I have about 10 gigs of backups of my hack progressing. That is not the problem. Corruption can happen anytime, and you may not find it right away. A backup will not protect your new work done since the undetected corruption happened. So that is where the question in the post comes in. That is my issue with a level now.
