]I exported the grassland background (only the top one) and simply recolored it and imported it back in. It shows up fine in the tilemap editor, but in game it looks like this:

There are some missing tiles and random pink marks! How do I fix this?

I guess the BG contains animations. These look like that ingame.
There's no way to remove the animations that doesn't involve ASM hacking.

The thing you can do is import the background into another background slot. If you use one without animations it will look right.

Ok I will try. (BTW I'm not talking about the leaves, that's a FG effect i'm working on)
