Hell yeah. A modded / hacked 3DS opens your console to so many game librarys from GBA, DS, SNES and other past consoles. You can also use homebrew software to do other cool stuff.

If you mod your 3DS, you can natively run DS ROMs on it, which allows for testing your ROM hacks on original hardware!
