Hi, all. I have got a question.
How do you guys make "Rising/Falling Waves" work for Lava and Poison Water?
It works, because I have seen some videos of it. But it just doesn't want to work for me. ;(

If I copy the sprite data of Water with "Rising Falling Waves" on, to Lava and enter the Level, the Lava just rises and kills me.
If I copy it to Poison Water, NOTHING happens. ;( What am I doing wrong?
Please tell me! Thanks.

I saw this on the Reggie site. Look toward the bottom of the page where it describes the lava control. It mentions lava using a zone and when a zone isn't selected, it will behave as you are saying.

There were some data for Water to make it Lava and Poison Water IIRC. I think SKJmin put this in his hack...

REALLY? That sounds really cool. I will ask SKJmin.

I already saw a trailer of his hack, where he uses Lava with "Rising/Falling Waves".

Hm actually it was the data from water that works with lava.
But anyways, here's the thread.

I'll tag onto your thread here....

Updated a lot of data for lava, water, and poison water. The lava and poison water still have nybbles 6 and 7 as unknown. I couldn't figure out what they do. Possible they are view or zone settings, but IDK. Also 4 and 5 could still do something.

I went into detail on the differences in the DB notes. Read each sprites data info and you will see the differences known so far.

Also, it is possible that lava and poison water had rise and fall data before NSMB final release. The data is entered as if it does, but ingame it does nothing. And I can't find a change by entering data into the nybbles. So maybe they removed it from the hardcoded data, but did not remove the hex data???
