what you want is the sprite 197 which can destroy or create tiles.

just make sure the sprite's trigger ID matches that or the switch's output.
additionally, when setting it to delete blocks you can set the block type accordingly to decide what particles come out upon trigger. if you set the block type to blue coins, there will be no particles at all.

The trigger ID, can that be any number I want as long as they both match then? otherwise i'll firgure out all the particles.

pretty much. just avoid hitting an ID that's already in use or you think might be.

the sprite is quite self-explanatory, you should be able to figure it out in no time.
