It's ded. The main developer killed it. Google implemented something already. Nothing to see here.

If you want to disable websites' automatically playing scripts for audio/video, you can also use an extension called NoScript. I have it for my FireFox, though I don't know if it is available for Chrome. It's a really useful program once one learns how to use it.

There are Goombas somewhere below this footer, 'cause typing "Goombas" makes one appear!

Yes you could do that, but I find programs like NoScript and uMatrix a hassle for multiple reasons:
- If you stop the media player scripts from playing the media, you'll most likely break custom media player controls or other JavaScript on the page.
- If you disable the media elements from working at all, then you won't be able to play them without enabling the media elements. This is problematic if you want to play some media, but you don't want other media on the page to autoplay.
- You'll need to dig into how the page works if something doesn't work the way you want it to.

With my extension, it will disable autoplay and keep media players from breaking. It's a solution that doesn't require a lot of effort from the end user and friendly for those without the technical expertise.

The above are some of the main reasons why I think my extension is a better solution than using NoScript or uMatrix.

Actually, it's arguable and it's dead so you win.
