So, I want to start working on Brand New Super Mario Bros. again. So I went to the DevKitPro website and downloaded the file "binutils-2.25.tar.bz2" and "devkitProUpdater-1.5.4.exe". When I run devkitProUpdater-1.5.4.exe, it works for a little bit, then it says it failed because it couldn't read tarball or something like that. Can someone please help me to get DevKitPro working? Thanks!

That looks like the updater you're trying to run, not the program itself. You might want to have a look at the other file, haha.

The updater downloads everything, so it does install it. If you run it again, it downloads everything and overwrites the previous files, thus updating it. |

I don't remember getting the files with such an updater, oh well. Anyways, could you post the whole error? "couldn't read tarsal or something" doesn't mean anything to me. |

You only need devkitProUpdater-1.5.4.exe to install devkitPro. It's an installer that downloads everything for you automatically.
Have you tried uninstalling devkitPro and deleting all devkitPro-related files you have, and staring again from scratch? If it still doesn't work, then it's a problem with devkitPro's installer, you should go ask for help at their forum, not here. There's nothing I can do if their installer is broken.
