Hey
I'm going to be working on a huge NSMB project and there is one thing I want to change in NSMB. I want to make it so that when you complete a level, you can only advance to the NEXT level. I want it so that you are not able to play the levels that you have played previously because my hack is going to have a new storyline and if you go back to previously played levels, it will mess up the story. I want it so that the level tile turns black after you have completed it

By the way, i know NOTHING about ASM-Hacking and i don't know ARM assembly code or the proper tools for creating an ASM hack. Maybe someone who knows how to do it can make one for me.

Why would you prevent people from playing previous levels again?

(oh well in a sense it'd work like SMB)

Because it contains a different story that may not make sense is some areas if you play previous levels it's like Legend of Zelda, if there is ever a feature that lets you play previously beaten dungeons the story won't make sense. Its kinda hard to explain

In this case, your chances are limited. No one has ever done an ASM hack for another user, only tem[plates for certain things.

You will need to work around the problem then. Like making alternate/branching paths to the story

That tutorial explains the ARM asm *language* and how to use it. For the tools and the way to apply it to NSMB, have a look at tutorial How ASM hacks are setup.
